This Spec Miata is the latest cage project at Izzy's. It is being built to meet the customers specifications. The owner brought the car to us already prepped with the interior gutted, dash removed, and seatbelt brackets/towers removed.
The cage was constructed using a main hoop to the floor and NASCAR style doorbar for additional driver safety. The allowed 8th points connect to the firewall and not the corner brace. Multi-angled pads were used wherever they were needed to provide a stronger, stiffer chassis.
The cage will be completed in 3 weeks including TIG welded tube joints, seat mount and backbrace fabrication, and window net installation.
