This Porsche 944 is being built to compete in the SCCA's ITE Class and possibly the Porsche Club of America. We were the third cage builder for this car and had to remove some prior work, but worked with the pads installed previously.
The cage was first assembled to test fit all of the elements for the best fit and assembly. Once the entire cage was built, it was taken back apart and welded.
Below are pictures of the cage elements that were in the car when brought to us for a new cage, as well
as a CAD drawing of what the owner was after.
The cage used 1.5"x.095 4130 for the main structure of the cage with 1/8" plate material for the pads. Triangulation elements and gussets were 1.25" & .75" 4130. The cage design was provided by the owner.
