This Corvette Stingray came into the shop for an update to the main hoop. The new owners sat a little to high for the original roll hoop so it had to be raised about 6 inches. For the hoop we stepped up from the original 1.5" x .095" DOM to 1.75" x .095 DOM to be sure that the refit of the original braces allowed for zero gap at the weld joint.

The above pictures are the position and height of the hoop originally. In order to remove the original hoop, the door bar braces had to be cut out and replaced after the new hoop was installed.
The Corvette runs in the B Prepared class in SCCA Solo Competition. The car was originally owned and built by Sam Platt.
