The owner of this 1979 FJ40 came to us to have a MetalTech kit installed along with numerous other small projects. After flipping his FJ on the highway, the 4x4 has gone a major facelift with an aluminum body coated with lineX and now a full cage.

A Metal Tech kit was used for this installation due to the fact that the owner did not have a factory top for us to work with. Rather than have issues down the road with a top that wouldn't fit or with too much clearance, we went with a well known kit. The kit utilizes 2"x.120 wall DOM. We added custom bent doorbars, harness bar and seat frames in addition to frame mounts that tied the frame to the cage mounts.
Some of the "smaller" projects included a removable seat frame, door bars, relocating and modifying the factory jump seats, removable harness bar and last but not least, a brush guard/bumper.
